Our second annual Vogt Girl's Weekend was in St. Louis this year. What a precious time with the four of us, compliments of Mer! We started on Thursday night, Megs and I drove to KC and stayed over with Mac. We picked Mallory up at the KC airport on Friday and then picked up Mac from work and we were on our way! We rolled into St. Louis about 7:30, changed and headed out for our first adventure. We stumbled upon a huge concert in the park and who do you think was there.... Sara Bareilles! It was really hot but we stood in the back and listened a while before going to supper. We had sushi that night and man was it GOOD!!! MacKenzie especially thought it was wonderful, right Mac??? Back to our hotel to sit in a luxurious lobby and play Phase 10.
Day two found us getting up really early to be at the Arch by 8:15. Which wouldn't have been bad except for the fact that these girls stay up REALLY late, I mean like 2:00 a.m.!! But, of course we had to play more Phase 10. We rode the 650 feet to the top of the Arch....SPECTACULAR!! It was so totally worth the lack of sleep. We journeyed on and decided to shop in a district called The Loop. By all accounts it was supposed to be the shopping extraordinaire in St. Louis..... A bit of a disappointment but the Cheeseology was amazing.... A cute little restaurant that specialized in Mac 'n Cheese. Boy oh boy, I really didn't want to leave that place! We arrived at our hotel to chill before supper... more Phase 10. After dolling up (getting dressed up) we chose a darling Tapas Bar (no, not topless). Really great food and a fun atmosphere as well. After much debate and many choices we decided to go back to our hotel to eat dessert and have coffee in our sheik little lobby bar. Where, of course, we could play Phase 10..... what a great choice because a terrible storm rolled in with torrential downpour and high winds!! We were cozy and safe at our corner table. And because we all love storms (minus Mallory) it was really fun.
Sunday a.m. we were able to sleep in a bit before packing up and heading to the Anheuser-Busch Brewery. On our way we stopped at the most awesome place for brunch just a block from the brewery!! It was AMAZING to say the least and voted (by us) to be our favorite eatery of the weekend. Our "Brewmaster's Tour" started at 1:30 and it was so much fun. This place is incredible, totally impeccable and we had a very knowledgeable tour guide. We were very impressed. After seeing our Clydesdales and purchasing our glasses we were headed home to KC.

We spent one more night in in KC at Mac's apartment enjoying her pool and each other for one last evening. It was a great weekend filled with laughing, crying, story telling and reminiscing... all in all a typical Vogt Girl's Weekend!!
